Pond Cleanings

Maintenance That Matters.

Because even the most natural spaces need a little tending.

Every water feature—no matter how well-built—needs seasonal care to stay healthy and clear. From algae buildup to leaf debris or overgrown plants, we provide detailed cleanouts that restore balance and bring your pond back to life.

If your pump flow has slowed down or you’ve spotted signs of a leak, a professional cleaning is often the best place to start. It gives us a clear view of what’s happening below the surface and helps prevent small issues from turning into costly repairs—keeping your system running strong, season after season.

Why Your Pond Needs to be Cleaned

Healthy water is the foundation of a healthy ecosystem.

Ponds are full of life—and with life comes buildup. Leaves, fish waste, and decaying plants naturally break down over time, adding excess nutrients to the water. Left unchecked, this creates the perfect environment for algae blooms, foul odors, and water that feels anything but fresh.

Routine cleanouts remove that built-up muck, reset the balance, and give your pond the conditions it needs to thrive. The result? Clearer water, healthier fish and plants, and a space you can truly enjoy—without fighting against nature.

  • What Makes a Pond Stay Clear?
At Natural Elements by Design, we aim to recreate the clarity and balance found in untouched natural places—like alpine streams, spring-fed pools, and crystal-clear rivers. Clean water doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from designing systems where everything works together in harmony.

A healthy pond relies on three core components:
Aeration, to keep the water oxygen-rich
Biological filtration, to convert waste into beneficial nutrients
Mechanical filtration, to remove leaves, sediment, and debris

When these systems are properly installed and maintained, your pond can stay clear for months—often a full season or more—after a service visit.

If we built your feature, these elements are already part of the design. But if you inherited a pond or aren’t sure what’s going on beneath the surface, we’ve got you covered. We're not just here to clean—we're here to help you understand how it all works. During your visit, we’ll walk you through the system, show you what to look for, and make sure you feel confident caring for it long after we leave.

Annual Drain & Clean

Keep your pond healthy, clear, and ready for the season.

This service helps prevent algae blooms, reduce equipment strain, and keep your water clean and clear—so your pond thrives through every season.

  • Perfect for returning clients or well-built systems in need of seasonal care.

Exploratory Cleaning

When something’s off—and you’re not sure what’s causing it.

If your pond has cloudy water, algae overload, pump trouble, or signs of a leak, we start with a full cleanout and system inspection. This process gives us safe access to all components, helps reveal hidden issues, and allows us to determine whether a repair, upgrade, or full rebuild is the right next step.
