DRAINAGE SOLUTIONS

Rainwater Harvesting

Capture the rain. Reuse it with purpose. Blend it into your landscape.

What is a Rainwater Harvesting ?

Rainwater harvesting is the practice of collecting and storing rainwater for future use. With the Aquascape RainXchange® System, we seamlessly integrate water storage beneath natural-looking features—like bubbling fountains, dry creek beds, or pondless waterfalls—so your landscape stays beautiful and functional.

You won’t even know it’s there—until it’s needed.

RAINWATER SOLUTIONS

Is a Rainwater Harvesting Right for You?

Consider it if you:
– Want to reduce your environmental impact
– Struggle with flooding, runoff, or erosion
– Have gardens or lawn areas that need frequent irrigation
– Are building or upgrading outdoor water features

Why Harvest Rainwater?

Rain is one of our most underused natural resources. Instead of letting it run off into the street or cause flooding, you can store it right on your property for smart reuse.

  • Reduce water bills

  • Irrigate gardens and lawns without tapping municipal water

  • Contribute to stormwater management and erosion control

  • Keep decorative water features running sustainably

  • Add hidden water storage without sacrificing design

Perfect for Rhode Island homes facing seasonal storms, water restrictions, or a desire to live more sustainably.

BENEFITS

Additional Benefits of Rainwater Harvesting

Rainwater harvesting offers more than just smart drainage—it brings beauty, balance, and purpose to your landscape.

Water Conservation

Reduce reliance on treated municipal water by storing and filtering the water nature provides. It’s a self-sustaining solution that supports irrigation, landscape features, and peace of mind. The very same system is used by the Aquascape Foundation to bring clean water to communities around the world.

Simple, Clean, & Easy

The system filters itself naturally, preventing stagnation and harmful bacteria. Need to use your stored water? Just connect a hose or activate a small pump to irrigate your garden, rinse tools, or support your water feature—no heavy lifting, no guesswork.

Supports Local Wildlife

Moving water doesn’t just look good—it draws life. The rainwater harvesting system’s constant circulation creates a healthy, aerated environment that attracts birds, butterflies, frogs, and beneficial insects. It’s a great way to support local wildlife and even work toward creating a certified wildlife habitat.

HOW IT WORKS

How the RainXchange® System Works

This isn’t your average rain barrel. The RainXchange® system uses an underground reservoir filled with modular water matrix blocks that store thousands of gallons of clean rainwater—completely out of sight.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Capture – Water is collected from your roof or hardscapes and funneled into the system.

  2. Filter – It passes through layers of gravel and natural filters to remove debris.

  3. Store – Water is stored underground in reinforced reservoirs.

  4. Reuse – A pump system allows you to draw the water back up—to irrigate, clean, or run decorative features.

All of this can be topped with a fountain, dry river bed, rain garden, or natural hardscaping—no exposed tanks or industrial look.
