When an indoor turtle pond becomes a constant source of maintenance issues, water quality problems, and animal stress, the solution isn’t more equipment—it’s better system design. In this project for the New England Exotic Animal Sanctuary, we reimagined an indoor habitat as a functioning ecosystem: concealed filtration, stabilized biology, varied depths, and meaningful habitat complexity. The result is a safer, lower-maintenance environment that supports natural behaviors—both for the turtles and the people who care for them.
